INDIANAPOLIS -

A two-year-old girl is recovering in the hospital after she was shot while riding in her car-seat.

According to our news-gathering partner, The Indianapolis Star, the child was riding in a car driven by her mother when the bullet - fired from another car - pierced her leg.

It happened late Sunday night on West 16th near North Tremont on the city's northwest side.

The paper reports the mother's ex-boyfriend is being questioned by police and his car was impounded as evidence.
