INDIANAPOLIS -

Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating a shooting incident near an east side liquor store that left two people injured Monday morning.

Officers were first called to a liquor store at 29th Street and Dr. Andrew J. Brown Ave. on the Indianapolis east side at around 8:30 am on a report of multiple shots fired. They found one shooting victim, a man, in a nearby alley, and set up a perimeter.

The man had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition, where he underwent surgery.

While officers were still on the scene, they received information about a possible suspect going into a home in the 2900 block of Arsenal Avenue.

Officers surrounded the house and were in the process of getting a search warrant when two people came out and told them another man was inside with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was transported to Wishard Hospital in serious condition.

"We do believe we have everybody involved. We are not actively looking for anybody from what I've been told. Like I said at this point in time, we don't know if this was mutual, if this was suspect/victim; we are just uncertain at this point in time," said Officer Anthony Schneider, IMPD.

IMPD Homicide and Aggravated Assault detectives were on the scene along with Crime Lab technicians. They are in the process of interviewing witnesses and recovering evidence.
