Irsay denies marketing hangup in Luck contract

INDIANAPOLIS -

Colts Owner Jim Irsay contends that the Colts are close to signing number one draft pick Andrew Luck to his first NFL contract. Irsay disputes a report that a marketing clause is holding up the deal.

Irsay announced on his Twitter account Saturday that a deal is close and the final details are not related to marketing. The Sports Xchange reported that the Colts want to have a say in Luck's endorsement deals.

The report says some team officials thought Peyton Manning was overexposed, and the team wants more control with Luck. Irsay called that ludicrous.
