INDIANAPOLIS -
The state's first Latino Expo is now underway at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. WTHR is the title sponsor of this free event.
It promotes Indiana's growing Latino community and connects its people with health services and job opportunities.
The Expo runs from 8:00am to 6:00 pm. It's free of charge and bilingual activities will be offered in each area.
For example, the Health fair will offer free health services to those with obesity and diabetes. Along with those in need of mammograms and various health screenings.
The Indiana State Department of Health is a major partner in the Expo.
The Education area will be providing information on pre-school, elementary, middle and high school opportunities, scholarships, university admissions, and continuing education for students of all ages.
In the Business area, product information booths and seminars will be available.
Entertainment will also be provided all day long.
After the Expo is finished, the event will close with a GREAT CONCERT led by Guero Loco, Grupo Umbral directly from Chicago and giving us a tour of Latin America through music, The 911 Mambo Band Orchetra will offer a tribute to the music of El Gran Maestro Tito Puente, and we will end the night with the concert of SHAILA DURCAL with Mariachi.
