HENDRICKS COUNTY -

An investigation into a murder and attempted suicide in Hendricks County led to the discovery of several pipe bombs at a home.

Police say 36-year-old Michael Giles shot and killed his wife, Emily, and then shot himself. It happened at their home near Lizton Monday night.

A friend told police the couple had argued that night. He heard a shot and found the woman's body outside the home. Then he heard more shots. Giles was seriously injured.

The couple's toddler was home at the time, but not injured.

When police searched the property they found a box containing 17 pipe bombs loaded with nails and BBs. The bombs were destroyed.
