INDIANAPOLIS -

A vigil was held Tuesday at the site of a west side shooting that left two Indianapolis brothers dead.

The Rev. Malichi Walker organized the vigil. A large group of boys were brought to the murder scene at Georgetown Road and 38th Street, where they said prayers and urged the shooters to turn themselves in.

Someone shot and killed 21-year-old Ball State University student Andre Stennett-Harrod and his 24-year-old brother LaVonne Harrod early Sunday morning. It happened while the young men were sitting in a car after visiting the Cloud 9 nightclub.

When they got to Georgetown Road, police say someone opened fire on the car. A third person asleep in the car did not get hurt.

Sources tell Channel 13 the shooting may stem from a disagreement inside Cloud 9, which unexpectedly reached capacity.

Andre participated in several community mentoring programs as a high school student. He also helped start a basketball program with neighborhood friends called Play it Forward. Andre participated in the Beautillion Militaire Scholarship program for high school students before going to college.

Right now Metro homicide detectives are looking for any clues from witnesses that will help lead them to the shooters. You can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 262-TIPS.
