Two die in southern Indiana rivers over weekend

WILLIAMS -

Authorities say two men died in separate apparent drownings in southern Indiana rivers over the weekend.

State conservation officers say 53-year-old Keith Sons of Orleans died in the White River near the Lawrence County community of Williams late Sunday while he was loading his boat onto a trailer at a boat ramp.

Police say Sons' truck and trailer were also submerged in the river and that his body was found early Monday about 30 feet from the ramp in the area some 25 miles south of Bloomington.

Conservation officers also say 44-year-old James Dillard of Winslow died after rescuers weren't able to reach him in the Wabash River near Vincennes before he went under the water. Crews had been called to the scene after Dillard started yelling for help.
