BOONE COUNTY -
A 17-year-old from Fishers died in a crash in Boone County Friday afternoon.
The Boone County Sheriff's Department says Jordan Franklin died in a serious crash between a car and a pickup truck. Preliminary investigation shows Franklin was driving south on US 421 near SR 47 in a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse and veered sharply to the right, off the roadway.
Franklin overcorrected and crossed into the northbound lane, into the path of a Chevy S-10 driven by Jacqueline Jansing of Lebanon.
The vehicles collided in the roadway. Franklin was pronounced dead at the scene, Jansing was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital with internal injuries and an injury to her hand. A one-year-old passenger in Jansing's car was taken to St. Vincent with bruising from the child's car seat.
