SAINT PAUL -

Indiana State Police and Department of Natural Resources divers were dispatched to the Hidden Paradise campground outside St. Paul in Decatur County Sunday afternoon.  It took divers about an hour and a half to recover a teenager from Indianapolis.

The victim is 14-year-old student at Harshman Middle School who was at the campground with a football team celebrating a state title.

Witnesses told DNR officers that the victim ran for the water and was told to stop but he replied, "I can swim".

It is the second time in two days that divers have been called out for a water rescue. Saturday evening, divers were called to the west side of Indianapolis, an eight-year-old girls' body was recovered from an apartment complex retention pond.

Eyewitness News has a crew at the campground and will have more details Sunday at 6 p.m.
