SHELBYVILLE -

The state is offering a reward for information about a fire that destroyed the grandstand at the county fairgrounds last month.

Local and state investigators determined the fire at the Shelby County Fairgrounds early in the morning of May 19 was set intentionally. The Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office is offering a $5,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to an arrest in the case.

Authorities are encouraging anyone with information about this fire, no matter how insignificant the information may seem, to call one of two hotlines to provide information.

The number for the State Fire Marshal's hotline is 1-800-382-4628. The hotline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Callers could receive up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest of those responsible, can remain anonymous and all names will be kept confidential.

Those with information may also call Shelbyville Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or 317-262-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 is also being offered by Crime Stoppers.
