Job fair at State Fairgrounds today - 13 WTHR Indianapolis

If you're looking for a full-time job, you've probably noticed they're getting harder and harder to find.
    
The Bureau of Labor Statistics says there are now more than eight-million workers who are "involuntary part time." That means they would rather be working 40 hours per week, but can't because their employer has cut back hours, or they just can't find a full-time job.

And if you're looking for a job this morning, a job fair is being held today at the State Fairgrounds.  More than 45 local companies will be on hand, and ready to hire.

These are private companies at today's event, looking for employees and accepting applications at the Grand Hall at the Fairgrounds.

The positions run the gamut:  Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, Retail, Management, Healthcare, Technicians, Warehouse Associates, Driving/Transportation, and several more.  

Organizers say they have not seen an abundance of these types of jobs available since 2008.

Just last week, hundreds of people lined up for about 500 seasonal jobs working for the Indiana State Fair.  The fair is looking for ticket sellers, parking attendants and gate supervisors.  Many of those jobs last the duration of the fair, which opens on August 3 and runs 17 days.  According to the Fair's web site, they are still hiring for those temporary positions.

Today's job fair runs from 10 a.m. morning until 2 p.m.  Parking and admission to the grounds are free.
