FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - A northeastern Indiana man sought in a fatal weekend shooting has been captured in Fort Wayne following a short car chase.

Zao Burrell of Angola was apprehended Monday afternoon after police chasing a vehicle he was in stopped it outside a grocery store.

The Journal Gazette reports state police were seeking to take the 25-year-old Burrell back to Steuben County on a murder warrant in Sunday's death of 40-year-old Brent Dombroski.

More than 100 police officers from northeastern Indiana and northwestern Ohio began searching Sunday for Burrell in Dombroski's killing.

Police believe Burrell fired at a police vehicle and struck it early Sunday as officers were investigating the killing. Police then chased Burrell across the state line into Williams County, Ohio.
