INDIANAPOLIS -

Today, the Indiana State Fair will put hundreds of jobs up for grabs. Last year, hundreds of hopefuls lined up for the annual State Fair Job Fair, which offers more than 500 temporary jobs.

You can apply for everything from ticket sellers and gate supervisors to parking attendants and ushers.

You need just one skill, according to the Fair's Mark Anderson, "Customer service."  Anderson said the Fair is looking for smiling and helpful people to make visitors feel welcome.

While the work is temporary for the three weeks of the Fair, Anderson said there opportunities to catch on "either on our event staff or our part-time staff" after the Fair.

Anderson said most jobs pay $7.50 per hour, with some supervisory jobs paying more.

The job fair begins at 3 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m. at the State Fairgrounds on 38th and Fall Creek.
