Divers have recovered a body in a southern Indiana lake that's believed to be that of a man who vanished while swimming on Memorial Day.

Indiana Conservation officers say the body was found Tuesday afternoon in Deam Lake after it was detected by sonar equipment on the lake's bottom about 250 yards from the lake's beach area.

The body is believed to be that of 32-year-old Thomas King of Clarksville. King had been on a raft outside of the lake's swimming area Monday evening when he began yelling for help and disappeared under the surface of the lake, which is about 15 miles north of Louisville, Ky.

He was not wearing a lifejacket but his friends said he was a capable swimmer.
