Indiana hopefuls play to veterans on Memorial Day

Posted: Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

Indiana's gubernatorial and Senate candidates are hoping to drum up veterans' support with online videos and campaign appearances tied to Memorial Day.

Republican Mike Pence and Democrat John Gregg could even bump into each other Monday. The two are set to march in the New Castle parade as they campaign for the governor's office.

Democratic Senate candidate Joe Donnelly has appealed to veterans with a web video featuring veterans testifying on his behalf.

Donnelly and Republican Indiana state Treasurer Richard Mourdock are battling for the Senate seat being vacated by U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar following his primary loss to Mourdock earlier this month.
