INDIANAPOLIS -

No more parking along Georgia Street. The city is trying to protect it from further damage, especially from oil and the weight of cars. It's also considering restricting certain trucks from using the street.

The street got a $12.5 million overhaul as part of Super Bowl 46. Improvements included a new boardwalk, sidewalks, lighting and planters.

Georgia Street became one of the key venues, drawing more than a million visitors. City officials say as a result, it saw a lot of wear and tear. Crews have been working to fix broken pavers and damaged concrete.

Georgia Street was built with the intention it would become a gathering place. A spokesperson for Downtown Indianapolis Inc., which now manages the venue, said they're in the process of lining up several events.
