ATV driver's body found 3 days after river plunge

WASHINGTON -

Authorities have recovered the body of a southern Indiana man three days after the all-terrain vehicle he and his girlfriend were riding plunged into the West Fork of the White River in Daviess County.

Indiana conservation Officers say the body of 28-year-old Larry Worland of Bruceville was recovered Tuesday afternoon from the river about 50 miles northeast of Evansville.

Worland had been missing since late Saturday when the ATV carrying him and 23-year-old Tiffany Darrow of Vincennes plunged over a high bank into the river. Officers say Darrow helped Worland, a non-swimmer, until she lost her grip on him in the strong current and he disappeared underwater.

An autopsy was scheduled.
