INDIANAPOLIS -
A man was critically injured when his motorcycle crashed into the back of tanker truck on Interstate 70 early Friday morning just south of downtown.
Witnesses told police the cyclist was traveling up the ramp from Madison to eastbound I-70 shortly before 1:30 a.m. The driver of the tanker told police he felt the cycle hit his rig, and stopped.
The cyclist, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital in critical condition with severe head injuries.
State Police at the scene say he was traveling at a high rate of speed and was not wearing a helmet.
The right lane of the highway was shut down most of the night during the investigation and cleanup from the crash.
