JEFFERSONVILLE -

State police arrested a man for using counterfeit money to pay for an item he purchased on Craigslist.

Troopers began an investigation after a man reported selling an iPad to Domonique Edmonds, 21, of Louisville, Ky., who paid with counterfeit $100 bills. Police had the victim set up a sale of another piece of electronic equipment and Edmonds took the bait, again paying with counterfeit $100 bills as troopers watched in a parking lot in Jeffersonville.

Troopers arrested Edmonds after the sale was complete. He has been charged on 14 felony counts of forgery, theft and driving while suspended.

Anyone else who may have fell victim to Edmonds' counterfeit money scheme to contact Trooper Josh Banet at the Indiana State Police post at Sellersburg at 812-246-5424 or 1-800-872-6743.
