Four rescued in Indianapolis west side fire

INDIANAPOLIS -

Firefighters say grease from a kitchen started a fire at the Cambridge Station Apartments on Big Horn Trail early Wednesday morning.

One firefighter was injured and two cats died in the blaze. Four people were rescued from balconies.

"We just had one firefighter with a slight injury. He was treated here at the scene and released. We did have four people that were rescued from balconies by firefighters arriving on scene. Everyone fortunately did get out of the building," said Michael Pruitt, Wayne Township Fire Department.

There was another fire at the same complex Sunday morning. Twelve units were affected in that fire. Several people had to be evacuated by fire crews and some others had to jump off their balconies. No one was hurt in that fire.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused it.
