INDIANAPOLIS -

The Colts are planning a couple of high-tech social media events this week for the NFL draft.

On Thursday, April 26, the Colts and their No. 1 pick in the draft will host a Google+ Hangout with eight Colts following the first overall selection. The Google+ Hangout is sponsored by New Era, the official cap company of the NFL.

For the first time ever, the NFL's No. 1 draft pick will engage with fans face-to-face through Google's new social networking web-based service. Four fans will be selected at New Era's retail partner, Lids, at Castleton Square Mall while the other four were selected from an online contest.

The Google+ Hangout will be one of the first opportunities fans have to hear reaction from the newest member of the Indianapolis Colts. To view the Hangout, fans must log on to their Google+ account by visiting Google.com/+. From there, the Hangout can be viewed by visiting the Colts Google+ page at approximately 9 p.m.

Colts.com will also host a live LiveU feed featuring the team's No. 1 draft selection from behind the scenes at Radio City Music Hall on Thursday, April 26, and his first appearance in Indianapolis on Friday, April 27. That starts right after the team's media availability with General Manager Ryan Grigson and Head Coach Chuck Pagano. The feed will feature all interaction with the No. 1 pick following his selection, including a press conference live from Radio City Music Hall, a conference call with Colts media stationed at the team's Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center and a real-time view of the Google+ Hangout.

On Friday, the LiveU feed will begin prior to the start of the team's media availability with the No. 1 selection from Lucas Oil Stadium at 6 p.m. The feed will continue through the evening and will feature his first appearance in front of Colts fans on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The 2012 NFL Draft will take place from April 26-28 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
