FISHERS -

A Fishers woman was arrested after police say her two toddlers were found wandering the neighborhood.

Sarah Martin, 23, is charged with neglect of a dependent and drug possession.

According to the police report, Tuesday morning, residents saw the children walking the streets wearing only T-shirts near 131st Street and Harrison Parkway. A neighbor took them in and placed them in diapers before calling the police. The children were so young that neither was able to tell officers where they lived.

After an hour of extensive searching, officers found a neighbor who recognized the children. That led them to a home several blocks from where the children were found.

Police say they questioned Martin, who admitted to falling asleep just after smoking marijuana and taking Adderall. Officers say Martin was unaware that the children were gone until officers woke her.

The children are now with a relative and Martin is the Hamilton County Jail.
