Kokomo store clerk recovering from shooting

A relative says the clerk shot in the face during a central Indiana convenience store robbery is expected to make a full recovery.

Kokomo police say surveillance video shows a masked gunman entering the store early Monday when 51-year-old David Kelly was shot. The gunman then took money from the cash register and fled the store.

Damian Shaffer tells the Kokomo Tribune that his stepfather is improving at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Shaffer says Kelly's recovery is "nothing short of a miracle."

Police are continuing to search for whoever committed the attack at the Village Pantry store on the city's south side.
