BROWNSBURG -

Butler University senior Ronald Nored is about to start his first job out of college as the varsity boys' basketball coach at Brownsburg High School.

The school board held a special meeting Wednesday morning to approve Nored as the new coach.

Nored will coach at the school where his former teammate Gordon Hayward was a star. He says he never thought he'd end up coaching at Hayward's alma mater, but that everyone he's met has only reaffirmed all the positive things Hayward told him about the community.

"I've heard a lot of good things so far about the players. Over time, I've heard a lot of good things about the community of Brownsburg and the thing that was attractive to me about this was that community piece," he said.

"I'm thankful for the opportunity. I'm excited. I know there's a lot of work ahead and we're gonna get started on that work immediately. I'm excited to work with the players."

Nored helped Butler reach back-to-back Final Fours. He is just one of two players in Butler University's history to have 400 career points, 400 career rebounds and 400 career assists.
