INDIANAPOLIS -

Lamar Patterson and Tray Woodall combined to score 14 points in overtime, leading Pittsburgh past Butler 68-62 in the College Basketball Invitational tournament semifinals Wednesday night.

The Panthers (20-16) will face Washington State in next week's best-of-three championship round.

Talib Zanna led Pittsburgh with 15 points, while Patterson had 13 and Woodall 12.

Butler (22-15) was in position to reach its third straight postseason championship - though this one was a long way from the Final Four - but made only five baskets over the final 11:58. Khyle Marshall scored a career-high 22 points for the Bulldogs. Andrew Smith added 19.

The Panthers took control early in overtime and closed it out from the free-throw line.
