INDIANAPOLIS -

Funeral arrangements have been announced for the young boy who drowned last week at a church day care.

Juan Carlos Cardenas drowned in the baptismal pool at the Praise Fellowship Assembly of God Church on Michigan Road last Wednesday. He was nearly two years old.

The day care was shut down while the state and other agencies investigate the case.

The last FSSA inspection at the day care was three months ago. According to the administration's website, inspectors found several issues. Several employees were missing criminal history checks, there was no documentation of checking for child abuse or neglect for employees. Also, the day care was listed as having outdated baby formula and mixed grain cereal and eggs past expiration date and there were dirty changing tables and cribs.

However, parents Eyewitness News spoke with said they were satisfied with the level of care their children had received.
