Family members and friends of a northern Indiana man who was shot and killed by police following a high-speed chase say he was a good person who helped others in need.
WSBT-TV reports those who knew 62-year-old Mark Albright gathered Friday at the American Legion post in Plymouth. Albright was part owner of a bar in nearby Argos.
A coroner said Albright died from multiple gunshot wounds. State police are investigating the shooting, but haven't identified the departments or officers involved.
Police say Albright fled when an officer tried to stop him Thursday night in Argos, thinking he was driving drunk.
He led officers on a 17 mile chase that ended when police say he fired shots at officers and they fired back, killing him.
