Danville family gets surprise on "Ellen"

Talk show host Ellen Degeneres surprised a young Danville, Indiana family on her show Wednesday on WTHR Channel 13.

Amber White wrote the following letter to Ellen:

"Hi Ellen,

I am in desperate need of a new car. My husband and I just moved to Indiana from New Jersey. My family lives in Indiana and we wanted to be closer to them for the birth of our first baby. The car I had in New Jersey finally saw its last days and its engine blew up.

We decided to get a newer car in 2006 and we are already having problems. The ignition stopped working so we had to put a push start button in the car to get it to start. Also with driving to and from New Jersey and my traveling business, our car already has racked up over 100,000 miles. This is the only vehicle we have.

My husband is a railroad conductor and will have to go to work at random hours, midnight, 4am etc and sometimes be out of town for a few days. I either have to take him to work or be carless for a few days. This is not ideal with an eight-month-old baby.

I would like to have a dependable car that I feel is safe for my family and my baby, as well as not have to be worried if something happend I would have no way to get anywhere due to no car. Or our current car stop working due to the rigging of the ignition that we had to do. Could you please help us Ellen!!"

Ellen sent her receptionist Jeannie to Danville for the ultimate surprise ever.

During the show, Ellen picked up the phone and called Amber, who was told she would get a call from one of our producers. Little did Amber know that Ellen herself would be the one calling.

Ellen started asking Amber all kinds of questions about where she lives and what's going on in their lives and then asked about her car. Amber was still in shock that Ellen DeGeneres had call her and was on the phone.

During the call, Ellen asked her if someone was at the door, and she didn't think so, then heard the knock and couldn't believe this was happening to her - she couldn't believe Jeannie was knocking on her door. She opened it and saw Jeannie, who grabbed Amber and her eight-month-old boy and escorted her to her new 2012 Subaru Outback.

Amber couldn't believe it was all happening, then her Mom appeared and Ellen asked Amber if there was something she wanted to tell her Mom, and she started to cry, because she wanted to tell her Mom she was pregnant with their second child.

With this news, Ellen invited Amber to come out to Los Angeles for her annual Mother's Day Show.
