Sergio Mendes is disappointed that he won't be able to perform his nominated song at the Oscars.
Mendes co-wrote "Real in Rio" from the movie "Rio." It's up against only one other song, "Man or Muppet" from "The Muppets," written by Bret McKenzie.
The Oscars cut the performances of the best original song nominees from Sunday's show. Mendes says he's "very frustrated" and "kind of sad" that he can't perform "such a lively song."
He says it's a great song to do live. He says he can't have everything but he'll still go to the Oscars.
