Police notified of locker room incident at Carmel High School

CARMEL -

Carmel Police confirm a student's parents do not want to pursue criminal charges after two students urinated on another student in a locker room shower.

The student told his parents about the incident and they notified school, which was legally bound to call police.

Carmel Police say the victim's family wants the school to handle it as a disciplinary matter.

Police say a possible charge that could have been pursued is battery with bodily fluid. But they say that would probably have been a stretch. The student was apparently not held down in the shower.

It follows the embarrassing case two years ago in which basketball players were investigated after hazing incidents on a team bus and locker room.

The school implemented an anti-hazing policy after four basketball players were charged in the 2010 hazing incident. Three coaches resigned after the players were charged. The students eventually pleaded guilty to those charges.
