MARTINSVILLE -

Amid loud dissension from an audience of parents, the Martinsville school board accepted the resignation of teacher and high school basketball coach Tim Wolf on Thursday.

Many in the crowd wanted the board to fire Wolf, and some said they were unhappy that he would be permitted to keep retirement benefits after his recent arrest in Indianapolis.

The board voted unanimously to accept Wolf's resignation.

Police said an officer arrested Wolf on Sunday on a misdemeanor public indecency charge after finding him in "a state of nudity" with a 17-year-old girl in his car at Eagle Creek Park.

Wolf had coached at Martinsville for 25 years.
