A Greenwood man faces charges in connection with an armed robbery Wednesday night. Police arrested Jason Matthew Gray after a short pursuit.
Employees at the Walgreens at 700 South US 31 told police that a man robbed the store at gunpoint at around 10:21 pm. They were able to provide a description of the man and his getaway car.
Greenwood Police Officer William Leppert spotted a car matching the description and tried to stop it. A short pursuit followed in the area of Valle Vista south of Smith Valley Road.
Police say the suspect tried to get away from them by driving through yards. He eventually abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Officers tracked the car's registration to an apartment in the 100 block of Dresden, where they arrested Gray, who matched the suspect's description. Police say they also found other physical evidence in his apartment.
