Police: Woman suspected of victimizing seniors

INDIANAPOLIS -

Metro police have arrested a woman who they say was victimizing people in retirement communities on the northwest side.

Police say Nickelle Rodgers, 27, of Indianapolis was arrested by IMPD's Organized Crime Unit Wednesday, preliminarily charged with residential entry, theft, deception, and driving with a suspended drivers license  After being questioned by detectives, she was transported to Arrestee Processing Center where she awaits an initial hearing.

Rodgers is suspected of having portrayed herself as a healthcare worker to gain her victim's confidence, victims whose ages ranged from 60 to 95.  Police believe Rodgers has had previous employment in the healthcare field.

Investigators credit the public for providing them information that helped police learn the suspect's identity.
