INDIANAPOLIS -
Indiana State Fair officials say a third round of payments has been made to victims of last August's deadly stage collapse from a relief fund.
Fair commission spokeswoman Stephanie McFarland said Wednesday the $114,301 allocated brings to more than $1.09 million the amount paid out to victims and their families.
Strong winds ahead of a thunderstorm toppled stage rigging Aug. 13 onto a crowd at the fairgrounds awaiting the start of a concert by country duo Sugarland. Seven people were killed and 58 others were injured.
Payments from the State Fair Relief Fund are a gift from donors and are not considered as compensation for injuries or death resulting from the stage collapse. Donations can still be made to the fund until Oct. 31 through the Central Indiana Community Foundation.
