Web surfers can track Indiana police cadets online

Hoosiers can follow the latest class of Indiana State Police recruits through 24 weeks at the academy in Plainfield through social media.

State police are posting weekly photo updates of the cadets' training on Twitter and Facebook. The class began October 2 and is scheduled to graduate on March 16.

The cadets will help fill vacant trooper positions statewide and will receive extensive training in firearms, traffic and criminal laws, self-defense, human relations, crash investigation, criminal investigations, crime scene processing, traffic direction and alcohol detection.

Their training can be tracked by following the Indiana State Police on Twitter, Facebook or the online gallery. To find state police on Facebook, "friend" them under Indiana State Police - Public Information Office. You can also see updates on Twitter.
