MARTINSVILLE -
Eyewitness News is learning more about what will happen to a former high school teacher and coach arrested for indecent exposure in a car with a former student.
Timothy Wolf resigned from Martinsville High School Monday following his arrest in Eagle Creek Park Sunday. Police say the 65-year-old was partially undressed in a car with a 17-year-old girl.
Martinsville School Superintendent Dr. Ron Furniss is saddened by the arrest of one of his coaches.
Wolf was recently awarded for 300 basketball wins in his 25 years as head coach at Martinsville High School. He also taught high school health classes for the district.
"Very sad situation for everyone involved," said Furniss.
Metro Police took Wolf to jail Monday after finding him half-naked in his car at Eagle Creek park. They reportedly found a 17-year-old Martinsville girl with him.
"He has submitted his retirement notice contingent on the board accepting it," said Furniss.
Furniss said Wolf would never return to the school to work.
Eyewitness News attempted to contact Wolf at his home, but no one answered the door.
Wolf owns the Subway restaurant in Martinsville. A source says that's where he may have had contact with the 17-year-old girl.
The superintendent, meantime, is warning teenagers to say something when adults go too far.
"The best thing they can do is go to their counselor or their parent or administrator," said Furniss.
Wolf is out of jail awaiting a hearing on a public indecency charge.
