LAFAYETTE -
Lafayette Police are looking for three suspects in the robbery of the Speedway Gas Station at 4325 State Road 26 East.
According to the clerk, three black males entered the business just after 2:00 a.m. and one of the suspects displayed a handgun. They took an undisclosed amount of cash, and left the store.
The clerk was not injured.
About an hour later, thieves fitting the same description attempted to rob the Circle K in Whitestown, but were unable to leave with money. Whitestown police are investigating that incident.
Two of the suspects were described as wearing dark clothing. The suspect who displayed the handgun is described as being a heavy set black male, approximately 6' tall and wearing a white zip-up sweat shirt.
