INDIANAPOLIS -

Peyton Manning was reported to be working out with the Duke University football team this week.

Matt Skura is a center for the Blue Devils. He posted to Twitter Wednesday that he "got to stretch next to Peyton Manning today and say hello."

However, by Friday, his Twitter account (MattSkura412) had been disabled.

A report from NBC 17 in the Raleigh Durham area says Duke's head coach, David Cutliffe, is a good friend of Manning's going back to the University of Tennessee.

Manning's status is still the buzz on sports blogs. Although Manning's doctors have cleared him to resume playing, Colts doctors have not.

The situation is leading many fans to wonder what Colts owner Jim Irsay will do when a March 8th deadline hits. The Colts can either pay Manning a $28 million roster bonus or cut him. Several reports indicate that while Manning is making a good recovery from several neck surgeries, he still hasn't regained enough strength in his arm to be competitive.

WTHR interviewed likely NFL top draft pick Andrew Luck last week. Luck was careful in his comments about where he'd like to end up, but did say he'd met Manning through the quarterback's football camp in Louisiana. Luck has told other news outlets that he could "coexist" with Manning - but that he'd prefer to start playing immediately.
