INDIANAPOLIS -

The search for a murder suspect from Illinois prompted two school lockdown incidents in Indianapolis and Fishers Wednesday, but police could not locate the man.

Fishers Police set up a perimeter in the area of 96th and Allisonville Road at around 5:00 pm after an officer spotted the suspect.

Riverside Junior High and Intermediate were on lockdown for a short time.

Fishers Police were assisting US Marshals.

Earlier in the morning, IPS School 44 was placed on lockdown after Indianapolis Metro Police investigated a report of the same suspect.

At around 9:00 am, IMPD responded to 20th Street and Montcalm, the site of a business, and found the suspect's semi trailer in the parking lot.

Police were unsure if the suspect was in the truck and had to wait on a warrant before approaching. SWAT was called in and no injuries were reported. Police did not find the man inside the truck, and SWAT was called off.

IPS School 44 was made aware of the situation and the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
