INDIANAPOLIS -

Archie Manning got to see his son Eli win his second Super Bowl championship, this time in the city where Peyton made his career.

Eli Manning was chosen MVP of the New York Giants' 21-17 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday night. For the second time in four years, he led the Giants on a last-minute touchdown drive that beat the Patriots for the title.

"They've been doing it all year. They were confident, but they had to make, Mario made a great catch, they got it down there under tough circumstances and that makes for a great football game.

The week leading up to the game was overshadowed by talk about whether Eli's older brother Peyton will be back with the Colts next season after missing a year because of neck operations.

Archie Manning said after the game on Sunday that "it's special" to see Eli win a title in the stadium where his other son has excelled.

"It was such an incredible game to begin with - down to the wire, which we have been these past playoff games, so I just was so proud of Eli. He kept his cool and got the job done. Proud of his whole team; coaches, all of them. It was not just Eli. It was a huge team effort; he's got fabulous coaches. I'm just so happy for him. Probably Peyton Manning is the happiest of all," said Olivia Manning, Eli and Peyton's mother.

"Peyton's extremely happy. He and Eli are close. They got to spend some quality time together this week and he's proud of Eli," Archie Manning said.

Both Manning parents praised Indianapolis for the city's efforts in hosting its first Super Bowl.

"Indianapolis has been fabulous and tonight has just been amazing. Unbelievable. I don't know what to say. I love Indianapolis, though," Olivia Manning said.

"I'm just proud of Indianapolis, what they did in putting on this game. I was here all week and it's just...I knew they would, but the volunteers and hospitality. And this building looked absolutely spectacular today. From the outside, from the inside, and then the Patriots and the Giants treated everybody to a hell of a football game. Heck of a football game. We're excited and very proud for the Giants, proud for Eli," Archie Manning said.
