While foot traffic on Georgia Street is as light as it has been all week, police downtown are bracing for a postgame surge in the Super Bowl Village.

State Police are patrolling Georgia Street at Illinois Street, where tens of thousands of fans will return on their way home and to hotels when Super Bowl XLVI ends. Police aren't discussing how many officers will flood the zone Sunday night, but their job will be to watch for potential trouble and to keep foot traffic moving.

More downtown road closures are expected to deal with the crush of pedestrians, both those leaving the game and the folks coming back downtown to savor one last taste of Indianapolis' Super Bowl adventure.

Fire crews responded to an alarm at Pan Am Plaza around 8 p.m. Sunday. Upon investigation, it was determined a sprinkler pipe broke and was leaking into the Pan Am Plaza parking garage. Firefighters say floor drains in the garage should handle the water with no problem.
