Super Bowl hotline ready for busy weekend

INDIANAPOLIS -

There are 130 public and private Super Bowl related events and there are dozens of questions regarding each one.

In a back room of the Super Bowl Host Committee offices on South Street downtown, volunteers are poised to answer every one.

Where can I park?

How can I get tickets?

Who's playing in concert?

Those are just a few of the inquiries called in to the Super Bowl Fan Hotline. (WTHR.com also put together a list of questions and answers based on feedback from viewers. Click here to see it.)

Four operators stand by at a time out of about 50 volunteers who rotate shifts. In front of each one are two computer screens and a lot of notes on the latest updates on times and events around town.

Claudia, one of the volunteers working Wednesday about noon, says she's hearing from people near and far.

"I had a call from Broad Ripple and I had a call from Boston. They're coming from all over," she said.

The phone lines rarely stop ringing. It's expected they'll be busier the closer we get to Super Bowl Sunday.

One volunteer was researching a map for a driver who wants to know where he can drop off a VIP game day.

"I know it's somebody from Tommy Hilfiger," she tells me, then adds, "We want people to enjoy being here, and being able to get there."

So that if anyone asks, visitors can say they had a "super" time in Indy.

The Super Bowl Fan Hotline will be available until Monday, February 6th. If you have a question about the Super Bowl or events, call 855-472-2012. It's toll-free.
