INDIANAPOLIS -
Some big names are already looking to the future, hoping to bring the Super Bowl back to Indianapolis.
As the guest hotel for the media, the JW Marriott is literally a "Who's Who" from the world of professional football. From checking into the hotel to checking in with the media on "Radio Row," you will find the likes of Shannon Sharpe and Cris Collinsworth talking about Indianapolis.
"If you go to any other site that hosts a Super Bowl time after time, they certainly appreciate it, but the people in Indianapolis, you feel there is a passion to it. They appreciate bringing the world here. They do a fantastic job. This city is built to host big events and they do it as well as anybody," said NBC analyst Cris Collinsworth.
Oddly enough, that was also the topic of conversation at an afternoon press conference with Governor Mitch Daniels, Mayor Greg Ballard and Colts owner Jim Irsay to welcome everyone to Super Bowl XLVI.
"I think we are going to be able to show the world that we are deserving for a second chance someday down the line. I really do," Irsay said.
High praise from an owner who just so happens to sit on the Super Bowl selection committee. Mayor Ballard echoed that sentiment, going so far as to say the city may want to be included in a regular hosting rotation.
"Every 8-10 years is doable. When you see what we have done in the city and when they see how different the Super Bowl is compared to the other ones. The community coming together and the village atmosphere, I think we can get on a regular rotation. I hope to get us on a regular rotation," he said.
