EARLIER STORY

BEECH GROVE - The nuns of a south side monastery have brought a spiritual side to the Super Bowl and have an offer that any football fan would find hard to refuse.

Two tickets to Super Bowl XLVI are the hardest to get for any football fan. To have them in your hands might be a prayer answered. The tickets will allow two people into the gridiron chapel for the celebration of the game at its highest calling.

"Of course, everything we receive is pure gift and more than we had before, so this is something that honestly came out of the blue and they were a gift," said Sister Mary Luke Jones.

The tickets were given to the nuns at Our Lady of Grace Monastery in Beech Grove.

"Well, I would say that these tickets actually represent, again, how blessed Our Lady of Grace and the sisters are with friends," Jones said.

Football is not lost on the nuns.

"There are a lot of Colts fans here at Our Lady of Grace and so the Manning name is kind of important to us," said Jones.

Nor is the value of the tickets. The monastery and retreat center operate almost solely on donations. With just days before the game, Jones said, "Our first challenge was how to get the word out."

The nuns started an online auction, a package deal that includes the two tickets, Pacers tickets and more.

"Breakfast or lunch at Le Peep, overnight accommodations for three nights and we will get you to and from the game," Jones said.

The accommodations listed in the auction are at the monastery.

"They are simple, but clean, and you will be in the presence of the sisters," Jones said.

Two rooms right above the chapel. For the right price, it could be a prayer answered.
