INDIANAPOLIS -

We're sad to announce the loss of a member of the WTHR family.

Cliff Nicholson, a former SkyTrak Weather meteorologist, passed away Friday morning.

Cliff was a meteorologist in the Indianapolis area for over 20 years. He joined WTHR in 1998, worked at the station for six years and occasionally returned as freelance after that. He also worked at WISH and WRTV.

Originally from Colorado, where he has a brother, Cliff is survived by his wife Pam of Cicero.

WTHR will remember Cliff's warm smile, vibrant personality and his trademark "terrific!"

"Just a real nice guy," is how Chief Meteorologist Chris Wright recalls Cliff.

Besides weather forecasting, Cliff also owned a company where he acted as a forensic meteorologist, sometimes testifying in court cases.

The viewing for Nicholson will be held Monday (Jan. 23) from 5-8 p.m. at Cicero Christian Church at 1715 Stringtown Pike in Cicero. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, also at Cicero Christian Church.
