GREENWOOD -

Students at Greenwood Middle School were dismissed early following a bomb threat phoned into the school Wednesday. Police did not find any device, and now they say whoever phoned in the threat will be prosecuted.

The call was received at 11:08 am by the dispatch center, and the school reported similar calls following the initial call.

Buses were brought in to transfer students to the high school while the threat was investigated.

A sweep of the school did not reveal any explosive devices. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department assisted in the clearing of the middle school by providing a K9 trained to detect explosives. The school was cleared and declared safe by law enforcement at 1:39pm.

Greenwood Police are investigating.
