INDIANAPOLIS - We are getting closer to the biggest night in Indianapolis, Super Bowl 46.
When the Circle City hosts the Super Bowl next month, just in case anyone is uncertain, the key word is super.
"It's all about having super service and everything is super," says Alex Reuter with Mass Ave Toys.
That's why employees at every downtown business or organization are being asked by the Super Bowl Host Committee to go through Super Service Training.
It's an on-line tutorial for employees of downtown businesses to make sure they're ready to host thousands of guests from across the country and world.
"They really encourage everyone to say especially that week, you know, say, have a super day," explains Reuter.
"We are such a welcoming city anyway that this is just another way of doing that," adds Cassie Stockamp with the Athenaeum.
The Athenaeum on Mass Ave will serve as that areas welcome center to guests who visit the avenue. Volunteers there will provide hot chocolate, maps, and cookies.
"It's about customer service right? It's all about how do we if someone has a question, if you don't know, try to find the answers," says Stockamp.
"I think our fans will be blown away by the downtown people wishing them a super day and helping them with anything they need during their stay," says Jennifer Hanson with Indianapolis Downtown Inc.
You don't have to be working or volunteering Super Bowl weekend though to watch the on-line program. Anyone can watch it and even learn a fact or two about the Circle City they might not already know. That's knowledge that might come in handy the next time you're hosting your own out of town guests.
"There were some fun facts about the city that I didn't know that were helpful and made us more aware too that we need to understand our city better," says Stockamp.
A city that's about to have the eyes of a nation on it, in a very big way. This is just one way the city hopes to leave visitors with a super impression.
