Eyewitness News City Beat reporter

A veteran journalist with 18 years experience in TV news, Mary Milz grew up in Evanston, Illinois, earning a degree in broadcast journalism from Drake University in Des Moines Iowa.

She is now Channel 13's City Beat reporter, covering breaking stories and ongoing developments affecting residents of the Indianapolis metropolitan area.

Her first television job took her west to Midland, Texas where she worked as an anchor, reporter and producer.

Mary later returned to the Midwest joining WHO-TV in Des Moines where she covered health news and later city government. While in Des Moines, she also worked as a free-lance producer for Iowa Public Television and taught a beginning news writing and reporting class at Drake University.

Most recently Mary worked as a free-lance general assignment reporter for the NBC affiliate in San Francisco. As the new City Beat reporter for WTHR, she lives in Indianapolis with her husband, their dog and two cats.

When not working, Mary enjoys running, golf, cooking and travel. She looks forward to exploring Indiana and surviving the mini marathon!
