Jarrod Jones scored 22 points and Ball State pulled away in the second half Saturday for its fourth consecutive victory, 71-48 over Tennessee-Martin.
After leading 25-18 at halftime, the Cardinals (4-2) took control with a 29-6 run to begin the second half. Jones started that run with a dunk and got 13 of his points in the final 20 minutes.
Ball State shot 72 percent (18 of 25) in the second half, including 7 of 8 from 3-point range.
The Cardinals started slowly in the first half, turning the ball over on their first three possessions, which enabled the Skyhawks (2-7) to take an early 4-0 lead. Ball State went ahead to stay, 20-18, with 3:36 remaining in the half on a jumper by Jauwan Scaife.
Jesse Berry finished with 15 points and Randy Davis 10 for Ball State.
Troy King scored 16 to lead the Skyhawks.
