Jarrod Jones' second double-double of the season led Ball State to a 64-53 victory over Texas Southern on Tuesday night.
Jones had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Cardinals (3-2), who won their third in a row. Jesse Berry scored 14 points, and Randy Davis had 13 points and nine assists.
Omar Strong led the Tigers (1-5) with 19 points, including 5 of 9 from 3-point distance. Fred Sturdivant had eight rebounds and three steals.
Ball State, which wrapped up a three-game home stand, outrebounded the Tigers 40-28. The Cardinals led 38-27 at halftime and were not threatened in the second half.
Texas Southern, which won the Southwestern Athletic Conference regular-season title last year, shot only 37.5 percent (18 of 48).
